But again, I want to make sure if that's the correct conclusion or if there's something else going on here because when I first started playing with curve optimizer settings, I've never gotten any other of the same error with a different APIC ID, only APIC ID 6. So if the problem is indeed core 6, then maybe I'm close to the ideal voltage offset for this core, which is why I've been reducing the offset by 1-2 each time I see the error. Might also be worth mentioning that I leave my PC on overnight, so that may also be a factor, and this has never happened more than once every couple weeks with my PBO settings. Memory is DOCP, but I'll probably manually overclock memory some time in the future. I want to know if, in my case, the APIC ID is reliable info, and that the problem is indeed core 6, and that I probably need to tweak its voltage offset until I stop getting this error. I just want to know if I should keep watching core 6 specifically, or if I should consider all other cores as well and any other factors that could lead to the WHEA error that I specifically posted. Never had issues with stock settings on my CPU when I got it. What I was just curious about is why it always reported only core 6 even when other cores were definitely unstable (in other words, why haven't I gotten all other APIC ID except 6 when some of those were unstable?), but I'm guessing this core is just power hungry. I've reduced the undervolt by 1 for core "6" since the reset and error to make extra sure that the core is stable (no error event 18 for a week since this most recent one). I noticed a while ago when I set up my curve optimizer that the only event 18 error that would show up is for core "6", even when my other cores were unstable (based on CoreCycler runs). Checking the event logger, there was a WHEA event 18 error (APAC ID 6, so core "6" in my CPU) that caused the reset. Is it my GPU or is Heaven Benchmark unreliable in this case? Could it be something else? I'd like to figure this out before I sell my old GPU so that if I do need to return this, I'll still have something in the meantime.Īlso another thing is that on the first night, my PC reset (though this is with an overclock/undervolt on the GPU, which was stable in 3Dmark).
